Operating manual

The method other shops still treat as a blog post.

This is the work we attach to a live site. Not a 40-page PDF. Not a “content calendar” of leftover AI slop. Pages a customer can use and a model can lift.

Still required

SEO still matters.

AI Overviews often cite pages that already rank. If the site is slow, blocked, or empty, GEO has nothing to quote.

We fix the boring parts first

  1. Indexable HTML, not a blank JavaScript shell
  2. One canonical per URL, real 404s, a tight sitemap
  3. Titles and metas that match search intent
  4. Internal links from money pages to answer pages
  5. NAP consistency for local businesses

GEO is a different win condition

The unit of success is a citation, a named mention, or a product picked inside a generated answer.

  • Lead every section with a direct answer
  • Put numbers, prices, specs, and dates in the paragraph — models love extractable facts
  • FAQ schema that matches spoken questions
  • Organization schema with sameAs and knowsAbout
  • llms.txt so assistants don’t invent the brand
  • Allow reputable AI crawlers in robots.txt

What “better” means

What “better than anyone else” actually means here.

It does not mean we control Google. It means we ship the layer most $3k retainers never touch, at a price a shop owner will pay, attached to a site that already exists.

1

Entity first

Name, city, phone, category, what you sell. Repeated the same way on the site, GBP, and llms.txt so models stop merging you with a competitor.

2

Passage-level pages

200–400 word blocks under question headings. One claim per block. That is what gets retrieved, not a 2,000-word wander.

3

Refresh, don’t archive

Embeddings favor pages that still look alive. We update facts, hours, prices, and seasonal offers instead of letting last year’s post rot.
